Newlyn Fish Market | Cornwall

The nationally important fishing port of Newlyn is home to the largest fleet of fishing boats in the South of England. The Fishing Industry here is massively important to the Cornish economy contributing millions each year.

If you’re a foodie it’s well worth rising early to visit the bustling fish market and watch the fish being sold. Some of the fish end up in the local restaurants and fish shops but most unfortunately is exported to Spain, Portugal and France. The Newlyn Fish Festival is held every year on the August bank holiday Monday and is a must as stalls and cafes take over the quays for the day.
